AN exhibition of art quilts reopened at Midsomer Quilting (Manor Farm, Church Lane in Chilcompton) on January 2, following a well-received first showing.

The exhibition features 85 pieces by a range of artists and showcases contemporary quilt-making as a form of visual art rather than functional textiles.

Organisers say visitor feedback during the initial run was highly positive, with several attendees describing the standard of work as exceptional.

Among the exhibits is a quilt that has previously been voted best in the world. The exhibition runs daily from 10am to 4pm until Monday, January 19.

Admission is free, and the display is open to both quilters and non-quilters. Proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Dorothy House Hospice.
