CHILDREN from Westfield Primary School were delighted to help their local community on Thursday, May 7, at Waterside Valley Park.

Joining forces with The Friends of Somer Valley, the children planted native wildflowers in an area near Chestnut Close.

The children were excited to extend their green-fingered efforts beyond the school grounds and are already looking forward to visiting the Valley with their families to water the flowers and watch them grow.

Headteacher Simon Mills said: “We hope the flowers will naturally seed into the meadow over time, allowing future pupils and visitors to enjoy the lasting impact of the children’s work for many years to come.”
