Five new public governors have been elected to the Council of Governors at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

The new governors, who were voted for by RUH members, are:

  • Mendip – Kate Cozens
  • North Wiltshire – Paul Newman
  • North East Somerset – Victor Pritchard (uncontested)
  • South Wiltshire – Ian Lafferty
  • Rest of England & Wales – Anne-Marie Walker

The role of a governor is vital in ensuring that the Trust delivers services that meet the needs of patients, carers, staff and local stakeholders, and that the views of local people are heard and fed back to the Board of Directors.

Alison Ryan, Trust Chair, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all of our members who took time to vote in the elections. The role of a public governor is a really important one and plays a central role in making sure the voices of the local community are heard.

“I’m delighted to welcome our new public governors to the Trust and can’t wait to start working alongside them.”
