Several children from Midsomer Norton Primary School donned their school uniforms on Saturday, to accompany HLTA and Learning Mentor Catherine Josham to the Armistice Day Ceremony in the High Street.

The children, all proudly wearing their poppies, placed wooden crosses, kindly donated to them by the Royal British Legion, at the War Memorial, at the end of the short service.

Mrs Josham said how very proud she was of the students for their commitment in wanting to pay their respects to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we all enjoy today.

On Friday, the whole school participated in a two-minute silence after taking part in a Remembrance assembly where they welcomed Geoff Wilson of the Midsomer Norton branch of the Royal British Legion and learnt about the significance of wearing a poppy.
