Bath and North East Somerset Council closed Station Road from Monday, 22nd January to carry out roadworks.

The Council have stopped vehicle access to Station Road whilst they are upgrading the signalised pedestrian crossing located on Radstock Road, just outside of the Salvation Army, before the Stones Cross roundabout.

Work will continue for two weeks and the Council expect to finish the upgrades on Friday, 2nd February.

Two-way temporary signals are in place whilst these works are carried out.

A diversion is in place via North Road and Northmead Road, where traffic can then rejoin the Thicket Mead roundabout.

Some motorists reported that their commute took much longer than expected. B&NES Council posted a reminder about the road closure on Facebook, and one user commented: “Monday morning commute that usually takes fifteen minutes took one and a half hours and emergency services were unable to get through. Sort yourself out Bath and North East Somerset Council this really is not good enough”.
