PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding towns and villages:

Restrictions in place to facilitate Bath Christmas Market

Various roads in Bath will have restrictions put in place as a result of the upcoming Christmas market, upon the recommendation of the chief officer of police for the city for the purposes relating to the likelihood of danger to the public.

A range of different measures will be put in place depending on the road in question. This includes the closure of a road, an order of no waiting at any time, and an order of no waiting. A temporary 24 hour ‘red route clearway’ will also be introduced at Lansdown Road.

There will also be the removal of bollards at Beauford Square to allow vehicles to exit Barton Street onto Monmouth Street.

Different roads will have different times for which their restrictions will begin and end, and whether these are for set periods of the day or specified periods. The earliest restrictions are set to begin as early as Monday, November 17, and end as late as Friday, December 19.

Tennis Court Road faces temporary closure

Notice has been given by Bath and North East Somerset Council that it intends to temporarily introduce a road closure for the length of Tennis Court Road, Paulton, from its junction with Park Road extending south to its junction with Plumptre Road.

The order has been made to enable Wales & West Utilities to alter and relay gas service for customers.

Works will begin on Tuesday, November 18, and are expected to last until Friday, November 21, for a total of four days.

Temporary closure of Eckweek Lane

A notice has been given that Eckweek Lane, Peasedown St John, will be closed from its junction with Wellow Road, Shoscombe, for its entire length.

Bath and North East Somerset Council say that this is necessary to enable Bristol Water to install new water connections.

Works are anticipated to last for three days, starting on Monday, November 17, and ending on Wednesday, November 19.
