PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding towns and villages:

Weekend closure for The Street

Bath and North East Somerset Council have made an order to temporarily introduce a road closure at The Street, Radstock, from its junction with the A367 Wells Road.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Bristol Water to carry out lead replacement works.

The works will take place from 7pm on Friday, November 14, and conclude on Sunday, November 16.

Top Lane to be closed for eight hours

Bath and North East Somerset Council have made an orde to make an order to introduce a temporary road closure at Top Lane, Farmborough, from its junction with A39 Bath Road for approximately 100 metres.

This is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road for new pole installation works by Openreach.

Works are set to take place on Friday, November 14, between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

Closure midweek to impact road in Timsbury

An order has been made by Bath and North East Somerset Council to temporarily introduce a road closure at South Road, Timsbury, from a point outside 4 Greenvale extending north east to a point outside Batholomew Hall.

This order is because works are being executed on or near the road to enable Bristol Water to install a new water connection.

Works are expected to begin on Tuesday, November 11, and last until Thursday, November 13.

Proposed speed limit changes

Bath and North East Somerset Council have proposed to make an order that will change the speed limits on various roads near Paulton, Timsbury and Paulton.

This order proposes that a 20mph speed limit is placed in lengths along Durcott Lane, Radford Hill and Weeksley Lane, while a 30mph limit is proposed at other sections of these roads, as well as on Bath Road.

Objections and representations with respect to the proposal should be made to the council’s Traffic Management Team. by Thursday, November 27.
