PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding towns and villages:
Heavy vehicles barred from Bath roads for maintenance purposes
An order has been made to prohibit heavy vehicles from proceeding along various roads across Bath City Centre.
Thirty-nine streets in total will be closed as a result of this order, which includes roads such as Great Pulteney Street, London Road and New Bond Street.
It has been put in place so that necessary maintenance works can be carried out to Cleveland Bridge.
It came into effect from Tuesday, November 16, and will last for 12 months or until the repairs to the bridge have been completed, if sooner.
The order will mostly affect vehicles with a maximum gross weight over 7.5 tonnes, but vehicles with a maximum weight of over 18 tonnes are specifically prohibited from travelling down Cleveland Street.

Bath Road to be hit with one day closure
An order has been made by Bath and North East Somerset Council to temporarily close Bath Road, Paulton, from its junction with Withy Mills extending north east to its junction with Upper Radford.
This closure has been put in place to enable Openreach engineers have safe access to work in overhead structure to provide new service.
The closure is only expected to last for one day, starting at 9.30am and ending at 3.30pm on Wednesday, December 10.
Tree cutting works cause two day road closure
Bath and North East Somerset Council have ordered that Moorledge Lane, Stowey, is to be temporarily closed from a point outside the access road to Curls Farm, extending south for approximately 370 metres.
This order is required to enable Contractors to carry out essential tree cutting works.
The works are expected to keep the road closed for two days, starting on Monday, December 9, and ending on Tuesday, November 30.
