PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding towns and villages:

No parking in parts of Radstock at the start of next year

Notice is given that Bath and North East Somerset Council are set to introduce a no parking at any time order in lengths of Walnut Buildings and Woodborough Road, Radstock.

This order is set to come into effect on Thursday, January 1. Full details of the proposal together with a map and a statement of the council’s reasons for making the order may be inspected at The Hollies, High Street, Midsomer Norton. These can also be viewed on the council’s website.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or any provision contained in the order may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Britten’s Hill faces temporary closure

Bath and North East Somerset Council have ordered that Britten’s Hill, Paulton, is to be closed from its junction with Wallenge Drive extending north to a point outside the property known as 1-2 The Folly.

This notice has been given to enable Openreach to carry pole replacement works.

Works are only expected to take place for one day, with the closure expected to be in effect from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Thursday, December 4.

Another temporary closure in Paulton

The temporary closure of Bath Hill, Paulton, from its junction with Withy Mills extending north east to its junction with Upper Radford, has been ordered by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

This order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road to enable Openreach engineers safe access to work in an overhead structure to provide a new service.

The temporary closure is only expected to be in place for one day, starting at 9.30am and ending at 3.30pm on Wednesday, December 10, for a total length of six hours.
