PUBLIC notices cover a wide variety of applications, ranging from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset Council in Midsomer Norton, Radstock and the surrounding towns and villages:
Road closure in Stoke St Michael
Notice is given that Somerset Council has ordered the temporary closure of Burges Hill, Stoke St Michael, from its junction with The Batch to its junction with Susannas Lane.
The order is in place to enable CP Forestry to carry out tree cutting works on behalf of John Wainwrights and Sons.
Works are expected to commence on Monday, November 10, and finish on or before Friday, November 21. The road will be closed at all hours of the day.
Multiple closures in Frome
Somerset Council has ordered the temporary closure of York Street Footpath, Frome, at its junction with Selwood Road, for a total distance of 28 metres.
Selwood Road, Frome, will also be closed, from its junction with Baker Street, for a total distance of 191 metres.
The order to close these roads is in place to enable Openreach to carry out ducting works.
Works are expected to commence on Monday, November 10, and finish on Wednesday, November 12, between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Short Lane faces week long closure
The temporary closure of Short Lane, Litton, from its junction with Litton Lane, for a total distance of 179 metres has been ordered by Somerset Council.
This order will enable Kier to carry out drainage works on behalf of Somerset Highways.
The works are expected to begin on Monday, November 10, and will last until Friday, November 14. The road will remain closed at all hours of the day.
Old Down temporary closure
Notice is given that Somerset Council has ordered the temporary closure of Old Down, Binegar, from near its junction with Marchants Hill To Bath Road for a total distance of ten metres.
The order is in place to enable Openreach to lay duct.
The works are expected to get underway on Monday, November 10, and last until Wednesday, November 12. The road will be closed at all hours of the day.
