IT was a night to swap running shoes for thinking caps for the club mates of Somer Athletic Club.

Families and friends enjoyed a charity quiz night at Westhill Sports and Social Club in Westfield.

Several rounds of challenging questions were safely navigated under the watchful eye of quizmaster Sharon Best.

With more than 70 participants, intense concentration was mixed with conversation and laughter before an interlude to allow some recovery.

Quiz entries and the interval raffle raised just under £350 for Ronald McDonald House in Bristol.

The charity gives support to families whose critically ill children are receiving treatment at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, recently helping the family of one Somer club mates.
