AS winter approaches, the Frome Community Bike Project is encouraging local cyclists to stay safe on the roads during the colder, darker months.
Cycling all year round is essential for many, not only as an economical mode of transport to commute to work, but as a convenient way to transport children to and from school.
Frome Community Bike Project is a local, non-profit bike recycling centre and community hub dedicated to making cycling more accessible to everyone. The project recycles, repairs, and sells bikes, while also offering community events, training and support to help people of all ages and abilities enjoy cycling.
Professional mechanics at the Workshop offer advice and fitting services for winter cycling essentials such as mudguards, lights, and high-visibility equipment.
The Workshop at Station Approach has introduced new opening hours, providing more opportunities for cyclists to drop off bikes and purchase equipment.
The Workshop has also recently added an e-cargo bike service to the regular bike service menu. These workhorses of the bicycle world are popular with both businesses and families in Frome and need to be safe and reliable.
As well as extended opening hours at the Workshop, FCBP will be out and about during November with a free group bike ride to Mells on Tuesday, November 18.
The mechanics can give your e-cargo bike a free professional inspection and after a thorough assessment, will advise if any further action needs to be taken.
To keep up to date with all the news and events happening at FCBP, please sign up to the newsletters and follow on social media.
All profits from Frome Community Bike Project go to Frome’s Missing Links, a local charity working to link up traffic-free routes in and around Frome.
More information on the charity and how you can support them can be found on their website, fromesmissinglinks.org.uk.
