Readers will know of the opening of Camerton and Peasedown Croquet Club (CPCC), but they do not know of the valiant efforts by our groundsman and an enthusiastic group of club members who have done outstanding work to ensure that play can continue.

As we are an integral part of Peasedown Cricket Club, we are very thankful to their ground staff for preparing a full-size croquet lawn on the top field, so that our other four croquet lawns can receive some 'tender loving care' after being flooded on so many occasions," said Mo Boys, Chair, CPCC.

Croquet is a game for all ages and fitness levels and there is always a good time to start. At Camerton and Peasedown, unlike many other clubs, they play throughout the year, so members can keep in touch, continually hone their skills and enjoy this increasingly popular sport.

Many people from the local area have joined the club in 2012 and have enjoyed the wide range of tournaments, many taking part in National Championships.

One new member, (Jon Bradley), came second in the National Centre Stage Tournament. From a beginner to these heady heights in just one year!

So, by popular request, the club is holding another Beginners' Course, a series of five sessions on Sunday afternoons from 2 p.m. – 4.30 p.m., starting October 7th, then the 14th, 21st, 28th and ending on November 4th.

All equipment is provided, all you have to do is to wear flat-soled shoes and clothes to match the weather. The club has three qualified and experienced coaches, plus other club members who are able to introduce you to this interesting game.
