Last Saturday saw Purnell make the trip for a Friendly game against Frome Park, coming away with winning four rinks out of five.
On Sunday, it was the first competitive match of the new season, with both the A and B teams being drawn away to Alexandra Park, Bath.
The A team won easily against the Alex B team, but it was a really tough game for the B team against Alexandra’s A team, and they came away with a great win by just four shots.
This week is the start of the National Competitions and the club is looking for some great results following one of their Triples getting to the County Final last year.
It is the start of the Somerset County League this Saturday, with the A team home to Victoria Weston-super-Mare in Premier One. The B team are home to Paulton in East One and the C team is away to Bath C in East Two. It is going to be a testing time for both the A and B teams, having both been promoted last season.
