This week, before you start reading, you’ll need to get your diaries out. Yes, with the summer season over, it’s time for some serious business.
I’ll start off with the Ladies’ and Men’s meetings: the Ladies’ is on Saturday, 12th October at 2.30 p.m., and the lads will be the next day, Sunday, 13th at 10.30 a.m. These meetings are quite important as any proposals for next year need to be thrashed out ready for the Club General Meeting.
This year, there will be quite a few important things to discuss, not least the Club Rules. It’s quite a few years since they were updated, so we’ve had a look at them and amended some bits, but we need our members’ approval to put it all into action. Copies of both the old and amended version are up on the notice board, so please can you pop along and have a look. The Club General meeting is on Sunday, 3rd November at 2.30 p.m.
Another date for your diaries: on Saturday, 26th October, Clayton will be running a Quiz evening, so start exercising the old grey matter and I’ll give you more details nearer the time.
Finally, don’t forget the Fish and Chip skittle League is now up and running on Friday evenings. Keith and Dennis run the league, and a great job they do. You don’t have to play skittles to come along; you don’t even have to be in a team! You can just drop in for a nice, friendly evening, have a drink, catch up with old friends and enjoy a bit of banter.
