PAULTON Bowls opened for the new season on the 17th of April to steady rain for most of the day - and the club hopes this will not be a regular feature this summer. However, so far so good.
The club has not been inactive during the off season and besides the regular club nights, two of its members, Dave Hancock and Paul Kemp, undertook the construction of a wheelchair accessible toilet within the clubhouse.
This needed and welcome addition had its official unveiling recently, performed by the builders; many thanks to all those involved with this project.
The weather dampened play on the opening day but the club look forward to action in future games which will start on the 28th with the Two Fours competition at home against Congresbury.
Thanks to all those members who have maintained and prepared the green and those who maintain the social atmosphere throughout the year.
