Last week’s heavy rain saw Paulton lose another fixture to the weather. Norwest’s Golden Oldies’ encounter had to be cancelled because of the unplayable conditions, which is a pity.
Paulton’s Men’s team suffered another narrow loss in the County League last Saturday; this time, against Fosseway. There was a complete spread of results on the three rinks, with a win, draw and loss for each team, but Fosseway managed to win by five shots overall. Paulton Captain for the day, Bob Richards, said: “So far, we have played all of our competitive matches away from Paulton, and been unlucky to lose narrowly on each occasion. Hopefully, results will improve when we can play on familiar territory.”
Paulton’s Ladies fared no better than the Men in their Wild League match against Frome Selwood. Two close rinks saw honours even, but Frome had a good win on the other rink to comfortably take the match. Overall, Paulton Ladies are much more competitive this season, with more closed matches then in past seasons.
