IT HAS been a rather wet and chilly start to Paulton Bowls Club’s competition season.

In the men’s first County League match on 2nd of May, away at Wells in pouring rain, Paulton prevailed on two rinks leading to a solid ten point start.

On the following Saturday, playing at home against Bloomfield A, Paulton enjoyed a great win on all three rinks in close hard fought games.

Paulton’s women have also made a quality start to their season with convincing wins against Prattens, at home and away at Wyrral Park.

The friendly, away at Alexander Park Bath, also went Paulton’s way with good wins on all rinks; while Wednesday, 13th at home, in the mixed Golden Oldies, it was an overall win.

Finally, in the preliminary round of the Men’s National Top Club competition, at home against Bath, Paulton achieved a win on three of the five disciplines to progress to the next round. AJ.Meaton.
