This week, Prattens’ Ladies played two Wild League games against Street and Frome Park. In the first game, Prattens won on one rink, lost on two and lost overall, gaining two League points. The Ladies fared better against Frome Park, when they won on two rinks, lost on one, but won overall by 61 shots to 50, gaining ten League points.
In a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game at home to Street, Prattens won on one rink, lost on two, but lost overall by 40 shots to 53, gaining two League points. In a four rink Mixed Friendly away to Mark Moor, Prattens won overall by 80 shots to 61.
The photograph shows Pauline Dando and Chris Love at Leamington in the National Finals of the Ladies County Pairs competition. Unfortunately they didn’t make the Final, but had a very close game against Surrey C. Both ladies said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to bowling at Leamington again. They will contest the Somerset County Final on 9th September at Taunton.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies play Shepton Mallet at home in the Wild League; Prattens’ Men have a Charity Cup game against Norwest, and their crucial last Somerset County League game of the season at home to Knowle B; there is also a Mixed Friendly game at home to Trowbridge Town.
