In their first Wild League game of the season, Away to Paulton, Prattens’ Ladies gained ten out of twelve available League points, having won on two out of three rinks and overall by 58 shots to 51. Their friendly game Away to Keynsham was rained off after only four ends.
Prattens’ Men were also successful in their first Somerset County League game of the season at Home to Weston Bath B. They too gained ten out of a possible twelve available League points by winning on two rinks, losing on one, and winning overall, 67–47.
In the Top Club competition, Prattens’ Men were Away to Stothert and Pitt (Bath). Prattens won the Pairs discipline, lost the Singles and Two Wood. We also lost the Triples and rinks but only by one shot on the last end. All in all, a very close game, but Prattens lost overall, one discipline to four.
A Mixed Friendly game at Home to Broughton Gifford also resulted in a shortened game due to rain. Prattens won on one rink, lost on three, but won overall 38– 35.
In the coming week, a Mixed Two rink team from Prattens are Away to Frome Park in the first round of the Tony Allcock National Competition. Prattens’ Ladies have two friendly games, Away to Alexandra Park (Bath) and Home to Isle of Wedmore. There are two League games for Prattens’ Men, Away to Purnells in the Mid-Somerset League and Away to Bath C in the Somerset County League. A Mixed team will play their first Mixed Mid-Somerset League game of the season at Home to Wyrall Park (Glastonbury) and there is a friendly Away to Banwell.
