After being put into bat, the home side made the worst possible start losing the influential Mark Sage in the first over and despite another solid knock from Strand who made thirty, Timsbury were precariously placed at 95-6.

A vital seventh wicket stand of sixty one between Jesse Bishop (39) and Sol Thompson (32 not out) then revitalised the innings and led them to a respectable total of 177-9 from their overs. Cook was Hanham’s leading bowler with 4-22.

A dogged knock of fifty four from Robbins put Hanham in the driving seat at 125-3 before Clothier took two wickets in his final over. Sibley then came back for his second spell to bowl Robbins and finish the innings off with the excellent figures of 4-14 with birthday boy Strand lending good support at the other end with 3-26. Hanham lost their last seven wickets for just twenty six runs with Timsbury claiming eighteen points for the win.

Hanham second eleven turned the tables in the double header defeating Timsbury Second XI by sixty seven runs in the Bristol and District League Division 5.

After electing to bat first, Hanham produced a powerful display and knocks of sixty five from Neil Paget, forty four from David Young, thirty nine from Mark Stone and thirty eight from Adam Tuffery saw them reach an impressive 248-5 from their forty overs. Liam Hosford was Timsbury’s most successful bowler with figures of 2-52.

In reply openers, Adam Workman (33) and Cory Versfeld (27) gave the visitors a good start but despite useful contributions from Dan Hill (33), Rob Clothier (32), George Webb (21) and Neil Hucker (21 not out) Timsbury finished well short. Joseph White (3-17) and Mark Stone (3-36) led the way for home side.

There was no better news for Timsbury Third XI who were beaten by seven wickets at home to league leaders Golden Hill Fifth XI in the Bristol and District League Division 13.

After deciding to bat first the home side reached 59-2 but Josh Tucker was then dismissed for thirty three and despite a late flurry from Russell King, Timsbury were dismissed for 112. Anthony Pinder took 4-31 and Will Schofield 3-4.

Tight bowling from King and Martin Richards kept an early check on the Golden Hill reply but a knock of forty nine from Joe McKimm proved pivotal with the visitors finishing on 113-3.
