The visitors contained seven players with first team experience and surely several more who will feature in manager Nigel Pearson’s squad in the not so distant future.

A move down the Paulton left saw captain Neil Martin combine with Dan Cottle and Ed Butcher whose cross was cut out by Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper, Max O'Leary.

Rovers took a seventh minute lead as James Byrne found Will Harvey whose ball over the top saw City defender Duncan Idenhen hassled by striker Kyle Tooze who won the ball and slotted past O'Leary from a narrow angle.

City kept home-stopper Aaron Sainsbury busy with saves from Sam Pearson and Idehen. However, on fifteen minutes, the visitors levelled from Tommy Conway's corner on the left and Riley Towler headed back across goal for Jow Law to head home.

Ten minutes later, Conway fastened onto a long ball to race past Sainsbury to shoot home.

City were playing some delightful one touch football and Sainsbury was called upon to save with his foot from Conway and Sam Bell's volley was deflected for a corner.

In the thirty third minute the lively Australian left winger Marlee Francois laid the ball to Conway to fire past Sainsbury.

Paulton responded as a nice move involving Harvey, Butcher and Tooze deserved more award and Martin Leniha's deep cross was cut out by O'Leary.

City counter-attacked and Francois’ cut in from the left hit a superb curled shot giving Sainsbury no chance.

With half-time approaching, Rovers had a free-kick with Cottle driving over the bar and Butcher's effort blocked.

On the restart, City made a host of substitution's which would soon ensure a completely fresh eleven.

Sainsbury was soon in action saving from Joe Porton then Rovers hit back with Butcher and Tooze finding Harvey who drove over the crossbar.

City made it 5-1 on fifty five minutes as striker Sam Bell was put through to half volley into the net.

Paulton did give up and subs Charlie Mclachan and Pablo Domingos looked lively on their debuts and Tooze's effort shot over the bar.

A flowing move down the left on seventy seven minutes and finished by Sen Palmer-Holden.

Domingos' trickery saw him dribbled past several defenders only for his shot to be deflected for a corner, then Nuno Felix volley sailed over the bar.

A very enjoyable watch in front of a crowd of around four hundred. If only Paulton could get that sorted of number every week!

Paulton are away to Ashton & Backwell on Wednesday, 13th July, kick-off 7pm, before the next home game on Saturday, 16th July when Welsh Division One side Goytre Untied visit from Port Talbot with an early kick off of 1pm.
