To start the week it was the Noyce/Wells Cup played at Shepton Mallet, between the pick of the Mid-Somerset League and the Yeovil League.

Again, it proved a very competitive game, with the Yeovil League winning by scoring late in the game; final score – 2-1.

The Finalists of the Paulton Hospital Cup were decided last Saturday, with Purnell Sports getting a massive 1-0 win away to Coleford Ath. A bullet-header from Josh Hiscox secured the place in the Final on Good Friday morning at Paulton Rovers ground, where they will meet Bath Villa, who beat Radstock A 2-0.

In the Premier Division, Frome Collegians take another step towards the League title, moving up to fourth after beating Westhill Sports away, 4-0. Getting the goals were Adam Lock, Theo Sing, Lee Handford and a thirty-yard screamer from Groves.

Peasedown Albion Res consolidate their position at the top of the First Division, beating Evercreech at home, 2-0 – Tom Pielesz and Hayden Campbell getting the all-important goals. Meanwhile, Somer Valley beat bottom team, Meadow Rangers, at home, 4-2.

Wessex have won the Second Division with a 5-2 win away at Farrington. Hitting the net for the visitors were Lee Gooding (2), Thomas Welch-Ratcliff, Richard Cameron and Dan Linham – well done, lads.

Timsbury A move up a place in the League, beating Westhill Sports Res at home, 6-0, thanks to a hat-trick form Joe Hallett, a brace from Ash Curtis and one from Ford.

It’s getting really tight at the top of the Third Division. Pilton Res stay top with a good 4-0 away win at Chilcompton A, with Frome Collegians (after their 8-0 demolition of Westfield A) second, two points behind with a game in-hand. They are both looking over their shoulders at Mendip Rangers and Peasedown A.

Evercreech Res beat Charlton at home, 5-1, with Mirko Di Pierno hitting the net four times and Sam Howchi getting the other goal.

In the Wilmot Cup, Mendip Rangers progress to the Semi-Final, beating Peasedown A, 3-0, with goals from Adam Rahn, Jack Clift and an own goal.

Chilcompton Res found it a difficult away game at Stoke Rovers in the Charity Cup, progressing to the next round by way of a penalty shootout, and Saltford Res won at home against Chew Magna Res, 5-2 – getting their goals were Tom Baker (2), Sam Speed, Tom Payne and Jon Mawer.
