Pitching In Southern Football League Division One South club, Paulton Rovers, have announced that First Team Manager, John Rendell, and his management team of Andy Sandell and Paul Tovey have committed to the club for the 2021/22 season.

Rendell was a goalkeeper in his playing days and started his career as a professional at Cardiff City. He went on to play for Paulton for seven years where he was involved in the 2004 promotion season into the Southern League.

He rejoined Paulton as First Team Manager in June 2017 and another former Rovers midfield player, Paul Tovey, joined him as his assistant.

Andy Sandell started as a player at Paulton in 2004, before becoming a full-time professional, playing over 200 games for Bristol Rovers, Wycombe Wanderers and Newport County. Now 37 years old, he rejoined Paulton in 2020 as player coach.

The club looks forward to seeing football back at Winterfield Road soon. Subject to the FA Council ratifying the FA Alliance Committee decision to ‘curtail’ the 2020/21 season, the Board of the Pitching In Southern Football League has decided that the 2021/22 season will commence on Saturday, 14th August 2021 for all four divisions.

The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7th August, with the Preliminary Round on Saturday, 21st August.
