PAULTON Rovers gained a splendid 1-0 away win over Bridgwater United in the preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup.

The game started with the hosts on the front foot. In the first 15 minutes Bridgwater could have been two goals up after finding themselves through on goal twice, only to be denied by the young goalkeeper Ben Rogers.

Once the game settled down, Paulton began to play some sublime football and started to create chances of their own. Jack Breton & Etienne Norman coming close to putting the visitors ahead.

It took untill the 40th minute before the deadlock was broken, a curling effort from Sean Markey was well saved by the Bridgwater goalkeeper; unfortunately the ball fell straight into the path of Jack Breton who made no mistake finding the back of the net to make it 1-0 to Paulton.

They now face Fairford Town or Tuffley Rovers in the next round, on the week commencing 15th September.
