Paulton looked like the home side in a dominant first half as Didcot twice cleared off the line, but were made to rue their chances as they went down to an early second half goal.
Kane Simpson had a chance cleared for a corner and Matt Long’s corner saw a flicked header by Wil Hailston and Simpson brought a save from home keeper, Leigh Bedwell.
Jordan Ricketts’ corner saw Alex Grimshaw’s header cleared off the line with Bedwell beaten.
Simpson latched onto a long ball from Long, only to blast wide. Didcot had a spell with raiding full back, Sam Elkins, seeing Jordan Graham and Ben Whitehead testing Rovers keeper, Andrew Hannah.
Didcot grabbed that only goal on 47 minutes, as Declan Benjamin fed Louis Joyce to slip the ball past Hannah.
Ryan Shaw played the ball to Long, and the Paulton left back hit the cross bar. Shaw then drove wide and Kailan Gould fired over. Didcot pressed with Elkins behind most attacks without any finished product.
