It was another great weekend for Mid-Somerset football, with six teams already through to the last sixteen of the Somerset Intermediate Cup.
Bath Villa at home overcame a second-half onslaught on their goal by Peasedown
Albion, who fell over the line 1–0. There were wins for Saltford Reserves, Victoria, Baltonsborough, Old Crown and Frome Town Sports Reserves. Belrose still have their game to play against Crewkerne Rangers, owing to a waterlogged pitch.
In the Paulton Hospital Cup, Chilcompton Reserves had a terrific away win to one of the front runners in the Premier League, Frome Collegians. After a full-time scoreline of 2–2, the visitors won 4–3 on penalties.
The Premier League saw Coleford go to the top with a 6–3 win at home to local
rivals, Mells. Westfield Reserves thrashed Interhound 5–1, and Radstock A followed their good win last week against Chilcompton Reserves, with another beating Temple Cloud at home 4–2. Purnell Reserves won at home against Welton Arsenal, 4–3.
Meadow Rangers, in Division One, secured their first win of the season away to High Littleton, 2–0. Pilton and Clutton played out a 0–0 draw.
In the Second Division, leaders, Somer Valley had a real scare, losing 2–0 at home at half-time, but the home team came out in the second half with all guns blazing, scoring four goals. There were six goals in the game at Pensford Reserves versus Westhill Sports Reserves, ending in a 3–3 draw.
There was only one game in the Third Division, with Farrington Reserves recording a good home win against Pilton Reserves, 4–0. They move up to third in the league. BH
