JEWSON Western Football Club Welton Rovers for looking to appoint a new chairperson.
It follows a season in which Welton, once a big club in the Western League, won only one of its matches in the Premier Division and finished rock bottom with only four points gained throughout the season. However, there was a big improvement to the side’s displays towards the end of the season.
In a statement the club says: “The person we are looking for will be responsible for taking a lead on running the club and how it fits in with the wider community. They will be a skilled administrator with a business background and an ability to problem solve necessary tasks to the relevant committee members
“Key points: Ideally live within easy commuting distance to the club. Role of chair: Will be a figure head and ambassador for the club will chair and lead meetings within the club document and circulate actions. The chairman should be responsible for key decision making in consultation with other relevant committee members
“Duties of chair: To provide direction for the club by effective leadership and management. To chair and control meetings.
“To act as principal officer within the club and make decisions whenever the need arises in conjunction with the other officers. To represent the club at any external meetings.
“To attend matches of football at all levels at the club. To be involved where appropriate in the co-ordination of club activities. To oversee the work of officers or other club personnel.
“To present the club’s annual report in conjunction with the club. Keep all sections of the club focused and driven in their particular areas to achieve the goals set out by the club and offer support and direction in order to keep them enthusiastic and valued.’’
