The Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club have won back the FosseKing Trophy after beating Kingweston 4.5–1.5 at home. They had lost the first leg of the contest 3.5–2.5 and so won 7–5 on aggregate.
There were convincing wins for Graham Edgell and Cyril Blacker and Allen Cheney and Alan Jones, who won their matches, 4&3. Captain, Gerry Rowell and Bill Lester and Mike Ricketts and Martyn Cuer, both finished one up, and John Bendle and Brian Phelps achieved a half. Pat Cray and John Williams lost their match, 2&1.
Ken Tucker came out on top in the June Medal with a nett sixty. Williams was second with a nett 62, with Cuer, third, on 64. Cuer’s round was enough, however, to win the Rod Bruce Scratch Trophy with a gross 78.
