Four days of torrential rain was the ultimate test for the newly-constructed drainage system.
The completed works came through with flying colours and this bodes well for the coming winter season and the full eighteen holes in play.
Massive thanks to Head Greenkeeper, Andy Grabham, and his hard-working crew for producing the course in exceptional condition for the Seniors’ Club Championship, which attracted a field of eighty-two players.
Winning the Gross Competition and the trophy was John Chedgy. Not dropping a shot until the sixteenth then a double bogey at the difficult seventeenth, but still returning a fine round of gross 71, which included four birdies.
The winner of the net competition was the in form Phil Thompson, who, despite dropping three shots on the final two holes, came home with a net 67 playing off a handicap of nine.
Runner-up was Phil Button, with a great round of nett 68, which included the only Eagle of the day at the Par 5 eleventh. Rob Thain
