The Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club joined with members of the main club in an inaugural event to compete for the Wessex Cup.

In the draw one member of the seniors was paired with a player from the main club in a Texas Scramble. The winners with a nett 55 were Chris Cozens from the main club and Malcolm Tucker.

In second place came club captain Ben Josham and Martyn Cuer with a nett 57 with Steve Jones and Howard Nowell third with a nett 61. Thanks go to Ben and dad Dave Josham for their foresight in putting on the day which proved an outstanding success and will hopefully become an annual event.

There was a close finish to the Seniors’ competition for the Stan Brown Cup. In the end John Waters and Frank Reeves, a late pairing, won the Four Ball Better Ball with a nett 57. Richard Sullivan and Tucker were second one shot behind with Noel Chatfield and Cuer third on 59 beating Nick Foxwell and Alan White on countback.

In the March medal Bert Austin took the honours with an excellent nett score of 56. One shot behind came Sullivan with Seniors’ secretary Alan Jones third with a nett 58.
