Mendip Men’s Avalon A team fought for a hard-earned draw when visiting Enmore. However they were not so fortunate when going down to a narrow 2-3 defeat to Stockwood Vale.
The Ladies held a Greensomes Competition, which produced a close result. Winning with 35 points were the pairing of Jean Padfield and Linda Brobson, followed by Wendy Norman and Eileen Masters with 34 points, beating Carol Curtis and Anne Collins on count back.
The annual running of the Millington Salver – a mixed event – was another very competitive affair. Winning with 41 points were Linda Brobson and M. Necker, with David and Lynn Cox in second place with 40 points, beating Sarah James and Glynn Haddock on count back.
Mendip Past Captains held their annual event with sixteen playing, and a further three joining, for the evening festivities. This is always a very social (as well as competitive) affair, and this year was no exception.
The winners of the Team Event were Tony Williams, Tony Taylor, Philip Moores and Jim Scott. The Individual Trophy went to Hugh Glandfield, with Philip Moores second and Duncan Offer third.
