A long day was in store for Farrington Park Seniors. Proceedings kicked off at 8 a.m. with 72 members competing for the Ray Dando Trophy, with the stipulation that only three clubs and a putter were allowed to be used.

On completion of the competition, many members were questioning the need to carry a full set of clubs – much more fun with a lighter bag to carry! Late afternoon beckoned and one hundred senior members sat down for the annual trophy presentations and a delicious three-course Christmas Dinner. The Senior Section also made a presentation to Head Greenkeeper, Nigel Pring, who is leaving Farrington Park after ten years in charge. We all wish him well in his new venture.

We would like to thank all of those involved in the organising of this year’s presentation, which was well received by all of those who attended. Some twelve hours after the first tee, some members were still in full party mode, fully fed and watered and looking forward to a good night’s sleep!
