The Merry Month of May is a bit of a misnomer at the moment. We have experienced sunshine, wind, rain and even hailstones in the last seven days. Now come on, we can’t blame all of that on Boris, can we!

This time last year we were bathed in sunshine and enjoying barbecues, beers and lounging about on our newly-purchased garden furniture, albeit still in our first COVID-19 lockdown.

Thankfully the pandemic, with the help of mass vaccination, is definitely on the wane and next month should see some form of normality returning to the UK.

The competition played out on this cold, windy inclusive of hailstones Wednesday was a Texas Scramble, teams of three, six drives each. Some excellent scoring was achieved with the top three teams all on a score of sixty. The countback method was used to determine the winning order.

1st Dave Forshaw, Stephen Guy and John Stephens, 2nd Rob Thain, Tony Clement and Mike Astle, 3rd Steve Hobbs, Melvyn Field and Richard Collier.

Our next competition is a four ball betterball. Look out for some good and some not so good scores!
