THE Wednesday evening Social Golf is getting ever more popular at Mendip Golf Club with 18 couples playing last week. Winners were Min and Mike Woodward with 27 points, while Rebecca Edwards and Hazel Scriven were 2nd with 26 after count back from Ann and Clive Kibby.

The annual 3 Counties Trophy match (previously known as the Tripartite Match but changed when Stoneham dropped out and were replaced by Newbury & Crookham) was this year held at Mendip who took full advantage of local knowledge of the course with a firm breeze adding to the difficulty of the very fast running conditions.

It proved to be an excellent occasion enjoyed by all which saw a win for the home club with 411 points, followed by Newbury & Crookham who were 2nd with 340 points while Tidworth were 3rd with 336 points.
