Farrington Park Golf Club in Farrington Gurney, has opened a new 14-bay driving range which has been fitted with Toptracer technology in each of its bays.

Toptracer transformed how we viewed golf on TV and it is now doing the same for driving ranges all over the world.

Technology that was once exclusive to the top professionals is now available, affordable and enjoyable to all at Farrington Park.

A Toptracer-enabled driving range has monitors in each bay that allows players to see exactly how far their ball travels, it’s spin rate and accuracy.

This information can then be recorded on a special app so that the person can keep a record of their shots, and what clubs they were using at the time.

As well as this, the technology allows golfers to play any of the top courses in the world, from their bay.

Golf journalist Rob Perkins play-tested the new Toptracer technology.

He said: “I’m standing on the 18th tee looking at the grand façade of the Royal and Ancient headquarters in the distance at St Andrews, preparing to hit my drive – but I’m not really.

“In fact, I’m testing out the latest Toptracer technology at Farrington Park Golf Club which includes playing some of the world’s most iconic golf courses

virtually.

“The virtual golf course is not only an entertaining way to pass your time at the range, it will completely transform how you practice and will likely help to lower your scores.

“As someone who spends considerably more time on the range than on the course, I know how dull practice can be, but Toptracer ranges offer something vastly different to what I am used to.

“This isn’t like reaching for your best driver and walloping fifty balls all over the range. It’s practice with a purpose and I had an absolute blast taking on St Andrews.”
