Our successful run of four ended at Long Sutton. Two Wells pairs had good wins of 4&3 – Dave Hayward and Allan Thompson, and Mike Gee and Chris Strickland – while Terry Pearce and Ron Hancock achieved a friendly half playing against ex-Wells Captain, Mike Stringer.
At the Bristol and District league match against Long Ashton, the team returned to winning ways. Andy Williams and Simon Jackson secured a half; Bill McCollum and Jack Baillie won, as did Pascal Norman and Nick Wilson. Dave Hayward and Steve Barrow were successful as well as Glen Crocker and Tim Harris.
In the return fixture, Bill McCollum and Simon Jackson faced stiff opposition and lost 4&3. Dave Hayward and Steve Barrow halved, Alan Todd and Will Thompson, Nick Wilson and Pascal Norman, and Glen Crocker and Tim Harris all won.
The Stragglers took on Saltford at home and won by Wells 3&2, with wins for Cunningham and Holliday, Pearce and Leigh, Hockey and Levell.
