A TEAM of 15 students from Midsomer Norton TAGB Tae Kwon-Do travelled to Worcester to take part in the English National Championships.
Across the day, their students delivered outstanding performances, bringing home an incredible total of 27 medals. For some, this was their first experience of competing at a national level, and they rose to the occasion brilliantly, showing confidence, determination, and martial arts spirit.
For the more experienced competitors, it was another chance to challenge themselves and represent the club at a high level.
One of the standout moments of the competition was the support shown between teammates. Students worked together throughout the day, teaming up for group events and supporting each other every step of the way. This didn’t just happen on the day—this was built through weeks of hard work in lessons and extra practice. While results don’t always go the way in every event, it’s the effort, perseverance, and commitment that matter most.
Tae Kwon-Do is a long-term journey. Progress takes time, and challenges are part of that journey. Struggles are necessary for growth, even if that can be difficult to understand, especially for younger members stepping onto the mats. Medals are, of course, an amazing achievement, but competing is about so much more than that. It’s about setting goals, working hard, and seeing your own progress over time.
Not all achievements come with a medal. Sometimes the biggest wins are improved focus, stronger self-discipline, growing confidence, and the courage to step forward and try. So before thinking “I didn’t win anything,” take a moment to recognise everything you have already achieved and everything still ahead of you.
