On Sunday, Somer AC held the Jack and Jill challenge – a 10k trail run through some of the stunning local countryside.
Starting at Haydon Cue Club, the run followed the River Somer to Radstock, before covering the famous Jack and Jill Hill in Kilmersdon.
Local running inspiration and participant, John Reynolds, said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable event, despite the really hot weather conditions, for all involved – which included a very well-attended fun run for the children as well as the main 10k trail run for adults.
“Westfield TT was represented by over forty runners crossing the finish line this year, and with all their dedicated training throughout the long winter months, the Westfield TT Ladies notched up an incredible seven trophies between them, including the fastest Ladies team.
“I managed to hobble around the circuit, but thoroughly enjoyed the amazing atmosphere from this event, but that was my last run now until after my next hip replacement, due on the 28th May.”
