Thankfully no massacre at the St Valentines Day competition at Farrington Park. Not a lot of love either especially in the direction of the 360 Golf directors. Roses and chocolates definitely off the menu, along with the infamous mushy peas!

The 14th February should have been the Seniors AGM and election of a new captain. Sadly this did not happen and our commiserations go to Jim Lunt who had been really looking forward to the challenge.

Following the competition there was a final Seniors Committee Meeting in order to ‘wind up’ the section. It is proposed that following the last seniors competition on Wednesday 27th March there will be a ‘shin-dig’ at Farrington Village Hall. Our new owners have certainly missed out big time with bar takings plummeting since 17th January and members deserting the clubhouse. Staff members must be absolutely gutted as are we all. It was decided that the Farrington Park Seniors Memorial Bench, which was purchased by the Seniors would be relocated to Farrington Village Hall where it will be maintained and cared for.

Our thanks go to all current and past committee members who have given their time, knowledge and experience to the section over many years. Special thanks go to Ian Clement, Mike Hedges and Roger Stone who between them have racked up almost 70 years of serving on our committee. It is an emotional time for all of us and we wish everyone well at your new clubs wherever you may go.
