Phil Moody continued his impressive run in the Monthly Medal competitions in the Seniors Section of Fosseway Golf Club, with victory in the May event and immediately dedicated his medal to his close friend, Vic Shaw, who had died earlier in the day.
Moody's nett total of 59 saw him finish two shots clear of Graham Edgell and John Bendle, who both ended with nett scores of 61. Edgell took second place on count back.
There was nothing to choose between Fosseway and Wincanton in the latest social match at Fosseway with a final score of 3–3. Captain, George Underwood's partnership with Chris Ellam again proved a winning combination, ending a close encounter one up.
Vice-Captain, John Appleton and Geoff Hallett also came out on top, finishing two up while Gerry Rowell and Malcolm Tucker won 2&1. Bendle and Frank Reeves just missed out finishing one down, Allen Cheney and Howard Nowell lost 3&2 and Edgell and Bob Smith were beaten 4&3.
