The visitors started the game very brightly, but could not turn the early pressure into points.

The home side won a scrum on their own five-metre line – their number eight picked up the ball and attacked up the touchline. Poor tackling allowed the move to continue, until North Dorset scored their first try 95 metres downfield from the initial scrum. After the restart, Norton continued to play in the home side's half and won the breakdown battle, providing ball to pose a threat, but, as in previous weeks, the line-out stuttered. Good attacking positions were squandered, allowing North Dorset to clear their lines.

The home side's back line was well organised and caused problems throughout the game, their lively centres ran moves with big forwards either running dummy lines or taking crash balls. Centre, Jack Rowles' tackling yet again impressed the visiting crowd, but he was unable to stop all of their attacking play. Their unceasing pressure enabled them to run up a 24–3 lead at half-time.

The second half continued in the same manner as the first, as North Dorset's backs caused problems with almost every ball. Norton's line-out problems were further increased when both first choice second rows were lost to injuries and centre, Robbie Fuller, was forced to step up into the forwards. Both Rose and Fear had battled hard in open play, working well with Norton's back row of Sawkins, Button and Denning, competing for every loose ball.

The second half saw Norton's defence running out of ideas and loose clearing kicks just gave the home side's rampant back line easy attacking ball.

Norton's centre/second row, Robbie Fuller, scored the visitors' only try when he crashed over under the posts for a try following a quick tap penalty from the returning Ben Moon. Ben Taylor added the extra points. Unfortunately, Norton ran out losers, 53–10, with a great deal to think about in training.
