Welton Rovers are pleased to announce that a Bristol City Youth Team will play at West Clewes in pre-season.
League One side, Bristol City, will be sending a youth team to West Clewes on Sunday, 27th July, with a 2 p.m. kick-off. Welton will be playing a development team of their own, with a number of Under-18 hopefuls for the coming season, along with a few players who hope to graduate to the Welton First and Reserve Teams respectively.
Chairman, Stu Minall, commented: "This is a great friendly for us as it's been a few seasons since we had a team from a professional club at Welton. It will be a great chance for some of our youngsters and a great chance for Midsomer Norton to come and see what Bristol City have in terms of emerging talent.
"We also have to thank Lorne Wilkinson, for using his contacts to get the game. Together with our progress on the stand, things are continuing to progress apace at Welton Rovers."
The club can also announce its pre-season friendly programme: Saturday, 12th July, First XI v Nailsea Town, away, 3 p.m. Saturday, 19th July, First XI v Mangotsfield United, home, 3 p.m. Saturday, 26th July, Reserves v Trowbridge Wanderers, home, 3 p.m. Tuesday, 29th July, First XI v Hanham Athletic, away, 6.45 p.m. Tuesday, 29th July, Reserves v Glastonbury FC, away, 7.30 p.m. Saturday, 2nd August, First XI v Frys Club, home, 3 p.m.
