On Sunday, our Ladies and numerous supporters travelled to Ashcombe Park in Weston super Mare and took on St Andrew’s in the final of the Fear Cup.

It was a wonderful display of bowling, played in a good friendly spirit but sadly, St Andrew’s proved the stronger team in the end. A huge well done Ladies, you did our club proud!

On the league and Charity competitions. Monday saw our charity triples team take on a combined Frome Selwood/ Park team with Purnell coming out on top. Sadly our Mens MSL campaign came to an end on Wednesday, losing to Wells in the semi finals. The mixed MSL faired better on Friday with a nail biting one shot win over Norwest.

On Saturday in the Somerset CountyLeague, our ‘A’ team lost on all rinks to Ilminster but the ‘B’ team took all 12 points away to Knowle ‘C’ . As the end of the outdoor season looms, we are preparing for the start of the indoor bowls. Purnell are holding a coffee morning at 10 am on Sunday, 4th September for anyone interested in bowling indoors whether seasoned bowlers or newcomers come and have a look at our great facilities.
