The Thirds entertained another of the promotion-chasing sides, North Petherton, on Saturday. Having been beaten heavily earlier in the year, Norton were keen to put in a better showing, and this they did, as they made the visitors work hard for their points.
Petherton started well and scored two tries in the opening twenty minutes before Norton hit back. Good interplay between backs and forwards kept Petherton pinned back and flanker, Gareth Williams, eventually powered over for a well-deserved try.
Dan Massey was prominent in the loose and made a number of important tackles.
Again, Norton ensured the bench all got a run-out, and these fresh legs ensured they continued to compete in a hard fought game. Winger, Marcus Tuttle, had an excellent game, as did full back, Finn Goudie.
Petherton scored four second half tries, but Norton can be very happy with their efforts against a well-drilled Second team.
Next week they are on the road as they travel to Tor.
