The Seniors of Fosseway Golf Club retained the FosseKing Trophy after a thrilling home win against Kingweston Seniors.

4.5–1.5 down after the first leg, they beat their opponents by an identical margin in the return battle and, as holders of the trophy, retained the cup.

Captain George Underwood led from the front, finishing one up alongside Howard Nowell. Graham Edgell and Brian Phelps were in great form, winning their match 5&4, Mike Ricketts and Denis White were 3&2 winners and Pat Cray and Bob Smith ended two up. John Appleton and Malcolm Tucker halved their match and the only pair to lose were Cyril Blacker and Gerry Rowell, who were beaten 4&3.

There was another impressive performance from Phil Moody when the Seniors held their June Medal day. He won the Rod Bruce Scratch Trophy with a gross 75 and finished runner-up in the medal competition with a nett 64.

Second in the scratch event was Allen Cheney, with 79, with Edgell, third with 83. Smith took home the medal after a nett 63, with Edgell again in third place with nett 65.
