Paulton, missing Harrison Newman through illness, sailed into the Final of the Roger Stone Memorial Cup (the League Cup) where they will meet Clevedon Town who beat Bristol Manor Farm on Monday night.

On a really bumpy pitch, Rovers weathered early pressure when on 25 minutes Harley Prior broke through, rode two tackles and bundled the ball home. However, the referee adjudged that he had handled the ball, which was clearly handled by a Bradford player.

A minute later Paulton went ahead as Tom Ovigne’s cross from the left was headed for an own goal with the player under pressure from Prior. Eight minutes into the second half Ovigne crossed this time from the right for Prior to slot home.

Two minutes later Captain Will Rawlings drew forward and hit a firm shot past home keeper, Max Hopcraft. Hopcraft was responsible for keeping the score down, but on 65 minutes, Carter Bailey crossed for Ben Smith to head home.

Late on, Rovers keeper, Joel Parry, pulled off several good saves with an exceptional save from Ben Kvudsen that looked destined for the net.
