Writhlington School attended the B&NES Hockey Tournament held at Hayesfield School.
The best teams from across Bath and North East Somerset gathered together for an afternoon of competition in the hope of winning the coveted B&NES Hockey Trophy.
The first match saw the team play against Chew Valley, a tough game played well by both teams. Some skillful defending saw Writhlington take a goal in the last minute, setting the tone for the rest of their games. With no break, Writhlington took on Wellsway, demonstrating great defensive skills and strong attacking to finish 1–0 and put them through to the final against host team Hayesfield.
A nail biting game saw Writhlington securing a 4–0 finish and winning the B&NES Champion Title.
Head of PE, Alison Weeks, said: “We are incredibly proud of our team, they worked tremendously hard during training and it has really paid off. I am always impressed by the sportsmanship demonstrated, not only from our teams, but the other schools too. We have some terrifically talented students amongst us and it is a real pleasure to help train and develop their talents.”
