A WOMAN from Chewton Mendip will be releasing a new fiction book set in the early days of the Second World War later this month.

Author Megan Wright wrote ‘In The Trenches’, a piece of historical fiction which follows Arthur Sutton, who is getting ready to be deployed, leaving his wife, daughter, parents and farm behind.

The 202 page book tells the story Arthur and his friend Richard, as they face the devastating impacts of a world at war.

Ms Wright is a student currently doing her A-levels who hopes to study English at university later this year. In the Trenches is her first book, with her dream growing up being to one day become an author.

The book will be released on Friday, July 18, at a cost of £19.99 for a physical paperback version, and £3.50 for an e-book version. It is being published by Austin Macauley Publishers.
