A BRAND new music festival is coming to Midsomer Norton this month.
Somersound Festival will take place at the Somer Centre Garden on Saturday August 16, where it will be open for guests to attend between 11am and 5pm.
The festival will also be free for people to attend so there is no need to purchase tickets.
It is being put together by Midsomer Sound, who are a local team passionate about live music.
There will be plenty on offer throughout the day for guests that do attend the festival. Alongside the live music, there will be a lot of street food to try throughout the day for those who end up feeling a bit peckish.
There will also be ice cream vans around the venue to enjoy, which will be appealing to those with a sweet tooth.
Furthermore, there will be plenty of beverages on offer throughout the event, as the ‘Lost Expeditions’ bar provides a dedicated outdoor area for people to come and have a drink while having a listen to the bands performing.
One of the bands that has been announced for the festival are The Revenants, who would close the show earlier this year at the Midsomer Norton Town Fayre’s tenth anniversary event.
They will be joined by a wide variety of other musical acts, which includes Phantom, who played at AmpFest back in June, as well as Poppy Smith, Lola Mae and many more.
In a post on social media advertising the event, the organisers said: “The festival’s being put on by Midsomer Sound a local team passionate about live music and creating something special for the town.
“Whether you come for the bands, the ice cream, or just a bit of sunshine, we’d love your support to help make this first year a success.”
